First Year
Project One
Given the responsibility to design a 'retreat' for a given client I was required to create a story and journey that differentiates from their normal daily routine. I was challenged to go into great detail of analysis and exploration of the site as this project was my first program based project of the year. Considering context I was required to implement a program for the client that goes hand-in-hand with the said journey. This all-round project - covering cliental, site and context, programme, and design aspects - was a great lead moving forward into my second year of architecture.

Light Exploration
A hypothesis involving the exploration of light where if it was possible for a persons appearance to alter determined by the angle, and amount of light exposure to ones face. A series of photographs were taken which do indeed document change in the persons physical appearance.

Process work for the project was critical. The better understanding I had of the site and client the better my chances were of executing a clear and successful programme.

The collective research, experimentation, and work led me to the completion of my end-of-year project. The thought process and hard work applied was recognized and appreciated, for which I was grateful to receive my first end-of-year distinction for design during my journey of becoming an architect.
